2012 IC Invitational Doubles LeagueGeneral Regulations
We are once again repeating the successful team tennis league of the prior three years with no changes in the basic rules which are summarized below. Apart from the team of juniors we invite from the NTC all captains are IC Club members. THE TEAM MATCH This will consist of the same four individual doubles matches as prior years played in two rounds. A team may use the same four players in both rounds but if they wish additional players can be brought in for the second round of matches. So for any one team match it is a minimum of four players and a maximum of eight players. The home team should provide two new sets of balls for a home match. Captains are asked not to switch players on to different “A” or “B” pairs for the two rounds although new players can be substituted in the pairs. THE INDIVIDUAL MATCHES These will again be based on the ATP tour doubles format. This is two “no ad” sets with a first to seven tie break ( with a two point lead). If the sets are split then a first to 10 (with a two point lead) third set is played to decide the individual match winner. LEAGUE SCORING There will be two points available for each overall team match. A team draw is worth one point to each team and an overall team win of 3-1 or 4-0 is worth two points. SCHEDULING OF MATCHES This is shown on a separate sheet with matches normally starting at 2pm on Saturday afternoon. Each team will have two “off” weeks during the league. Captains may agree to reschedule if they both mutually agree. We ask for co-operation between captains over any scheduling conflicts with other events and for court availability at their home venues. RESULTS OF MATCHES Will captains please forward the team results to Mas Kimball preferably by email maskimball@mac.com after each team match. Mas’s phone is 327-5711. This an obligation of the home team and also appreciated from the away team to ensure full results are recorded. Mas will be posting the results on our website which is reached by clicking on The Bahamas IC logo on the IC Council website www.ictennis.net ENTRY FEES The team entry fee is a simple “one off” payment of $80 which will cover the team entry and 8 players ( that works out at $10 each player and covers 8 matches).
